The Big Barn in North Devon is the perfect holiday cottage for guests looking to stay with their dogs. The pet friendly self-catering property is happy to welcome up to five dogs, free of charge.

The barn conversion, which also has a good sized games room, a hot tub and an enclosed garden, asks that dogs be kept on the ground floor of the accommodation and not allowed on the furniture.

Please note, The Big Barn is located on a working farm and guests are welcome to exercise their dogs on the land, however, as there is livestock in some fields we ask that dogs be kept on their lead and under control.

Dog Walks

One of the best walks for dog owners is a short walk across the farm’s land that is about 1KM in distance. The walk begins at The Big Barn and goes alongside the river. Other riverside walks are also easily accessible nearby, and the Tarka Trail, which runs from Braunton to Meeth is also within easy reach. For a longer walk please look into the South West Coast Path or the circular walk that goes between Croyde and Woolacombe.

We had 8 adults, 7 children and 4 dogs and this place catered for all of us. The barn is beautiful, spacious and we couldn’t have wished for anything more. Will definitely be going back!

Dog Friendly Beaches

Within North Devon there are a number of dog friendly beaches. Some of the most popular beaches such as Woolacombe and Westward Ho! will have restrictions in place from Easter through to the end of October but others including Saunton Sands are dog friendly all year round. The closest beach to The Big Barn is Westward Ho! which has a dog friendly section during the main holiday season.
